COBBLERS COVE HOTEL, ST. PETER

12TH MARCH, 2017

2.00 pm – 6.00 pm

The owners and management of Cobblers Cove Hotel have graciously agreed for the Barbados Horticultural Society to hold their last open garden for this season in the grounds of this hotel. Cobblers Cove is owned by the Godsall family and has been in operation since 1968.

This small, luxurious hotel with immaculate grounds features many species of palms, a large Ylang Ylang tree with its delightfully fragrant but unattractive flowers, a unique white Bottle brush tree, several Pomgania, many colours of  Ixora, Hibiscus, Bougainvillea, Ginger Lilies, Heliconia, colourful Crotons  and a Rhondeletia bush with its clusters of small red flowers are among the many types of plants to be found in this garden. Two shrubs in full bloom are a white Bougainvillea and a white Petrea, while the white Frangipani with it’s fragrant flowers is a spectacle.  Across the road from the hotel is a Baobab tree and a Calabash tree neither of which are very prevalent in our  island.

As is normal at this time of the year the hotel is fully occupied and as the Suites open on to the garden our patrons are asked to respect the privacy of the guests and not wander too close to the suites. The hotel’s terrace around the pool affords a stunning view of the beach and ocean and the hotel guests are certain to be relaxing in this area.  Here again our patrons are asked to respect their privacy on this terrace and in the Living Room where afternoon Tea is served to the guests.

As usual Fruit Juices, Rum Punch, Iced Coffee and a novel addition will be the ever popular Bajan Fish Cakes!  These will be provided by the hotel at nominal prices.

Patrons will enter the hotel at the front porch of the hotel and proceed through Reception to the garden.  Niki Farmer, consultant gardener to Cobblers Cove and BHS members will be on hand to answer any queries.

Directions to the hotel: from the south or Bridgetown, take the coast road and pass St. Peter’s Bay and Cobblers Cove will be the left.  From the north or Speightstown very soon after the roundabout Cobblers Cove will be on the right.  Parking will be available in the Terra\Bajan Services\Blue Sky car park and the hotel will be in easy walking distance across the road.
