Open Garden – Sunday, February 11th 2018
2.00 pm – 6.00 pm
“Westmount”, St. James

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Manning have very kindly agreed to let the Horticultural Society have the lovely grounds of their home “Westmount” for our Open Garden program on Sunday, February 11th 2018.

This garden of five plus acres is more like a park with beautiful old trees such as Mahogany, Neem, Silk Cotton to name a few and clumps of Bismark Palms. Neat manicured lawns with paths meandering throughout make for easy walking and exploring. Vibrant Crotons, oleander, plumbago, eranthemum, giant philodendrons are some of the plants in this “park like” garden. In the middle of the pond is a small island which can be reached by the wooden bridge leading from the northwestern side of the garden. You are sure to be able to see the many fish and turtles in the pond. Of interest will be Roger’s collection of Antique cars and a Jeep which will be on display.

Roger’s wife Myra and her sister Carol, both artists will also have some of their work on display. Dr. Rev. Wayne Ramsay will be demonstrating both floral and foliage arrangements.
And as is customary at our Open Gardens, cold drinks will be available for purchase.

Admission charges are as follows: Barbados Horticultural Society Members $10.00, Non-members $15.00 and children under 12 years $ 7.00.

Directions to the garden: – from Highway 2A exit at the sign for Royal Westmoreland and continue downhill till you see the Yellow BHS Open Garden sign at the junction with the road leading to the garden.
